12th February 2021 - Important Update
February Half Term Holiday 2021 Important Information for parents/carers of children who have been attending school (critical workers and vulnerable children):
We have emailed a letter home to explain the following important information:
What If My Child Tests Positive For Coronavirus During The Holiday?
Please note, this only applies to children who have been attending school:
If any children or members of staff develop symptoms of coronavirus within 48 hours of being in school and then receive a positive test result, we have been asked to assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as they may have been infectious whilst in school.
- If your child gets a positive test result and symptoms started before 3pm on Sunday 14th February:
Please inform the school of a positive test result by calling 07554 452551 between 9am and 11am up to and including 18th February.
It is important that you use this mobile number and not the office number or the school email as they will not be monitored after 12th February.
This phone will be checked up to and including Thursday 18th February by our Senior Leadership Team who will respond as necessary.
- If your child receives a positive test having developed symptoms more than 48 hours since being in school (i.e. symptoms begin after 3pm on Sunday 14th February), please follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace instead of informing the school.
How To Book A Coronavirus Test
I’d like to remind you that if you or your child shows any of the following symptoms, please arrange to have a coronavirus test. You can find out more about coronavirus in children on the government website: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/coronavirus-in-children/
The website gives advice on who to contact for more help or to book a coronavirus test. For most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness. The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of:
• a new continuous cough
• a high temperature
• a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)
Anyone with symptoms will be eligible for testing and this can be arranged by calling 119 or via https://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test
Next Half Term
Our next half term begins on Monday 22nd February. The government has said that schools will remain closed to most children until at least 8th March. Therefore, those children who were accessing remote learning from home should continue to do so next half term.
Children who have school places because they are either vulnerable or children of critical workers should attend school at the same times as the first half term. If your child shows symptoms of coronavirus towards the end of the holiday, please book them a COVID-19 test and inform us on Monday 22nd February, keeping them off school until you have the test result. If the test is positive, your child will need to self-isolate for 10 days following the onset of symptoms and should not attend school until after that time.
